What is included with your Eat To Perform membership?

What if I eat keto only? What if I do the Zone diet? What if I don’t eat dairy?  What if I do ____?

Whatever diet you prefer we believe in eating adequate amounts to support  your athletic activities and lifestyle. What do we mean by that? We mean that we track Macronutrients – including fat, protein, and carbohydrates rather than calories. 

We also believe how you eat should be somewhat flexible, which counting macros allows for. Most of us eat a diet of primarily whole foods with eating for joy at certain moments.  If you want to call that Paleo, Zone, or whatever, that’s cool by us as long as you are eating appropriate amounts to fuel your workouts.

What is a Macronutrient?

Macronutrients are proteins, fats, and carbohydrates. Second to getting your Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE)/Eat To Perform numbers dialed in, eating the proper mix of these three macros will be the most important factor in losing fat while maintaining or improving your performance.

Carbohydrate: 4 calories per 1 gram of carbohydrate
Fat: 9 calories per 1 gram of fat
Protein:  4 calories per 1 gram of protein

Do I need a food logger?

Yes, you will need a food logger.  Most members use MyFitnessPal, which syncs with the Eat To Perform app.

The premium version is not necessary. You can easily log your food without the premium version of the food logger, and adjust accordingly. You will round your carbohydrate and protein targets to the nearest 10 grams.

For example, if your macro target reads 148g, set your target as 150g.  Since Fat has more calories per gram we like you to round fat to the closest 5g. For instance, if your macro target reads 47 g, set your target as 45g.

Do you create individualized meal plans for members?

We provide you with Free meal plan templates (choose from Vegetarian, Vegan, Whole Food and more). We also offer a customized meal plan for an additional fee (available when you sign up).

There is no one-size-fits-all approach to fitness and nutrition.  From different food preferences, to a variety of athletic intensity, to different goals, it is not possible to offer a realistic meal plan for each person without additional information.  We also offer an optional Meal Planning Guide to help you structure your own meal plans.

How long after I sign up does it take to get materials?

You will receive an order confirmation email after signing up, and a separate Welcome email with a list of everything you need to do to get started.

First, you need to set up and complete your profile in the Eat To Perform app. The more descriptive you are with your activity level, and goals, the better your coach can set you up for success with your plan. 

We try to get you set up with macros within a few hours during the week, and within 24 hours on weekends depending on timezone, and when you sign up.

You will also receive a few text messages to ensure that you are in the app, and set up for success. If you purchased a custom meal plan, you can expect to see that within 3-5 days of purchase.
